PARIS — Renault has announced that its 2008 Geneva Auto Show display this year will mark four world debuts, including the Koleos utility vehicle and the Twingo RS by Renaultsport. Two yet-to-be-revealed debutantes are the Laguna GT and a top-secret concept vehicle.

Although it won't release images and full details until Friday, Renault says the Laguna GT will feature a chassis "honed by Renaultsport," with four-wheel steering. The company is positioning the Laguna GT as a "sports-oriented upper-medium challenger."

The as-yet-unnamed concept from Renault Design, a successor to last year's stunning Laguna Coupe concept, is simply described as "striking and seductive," with details to be divulged next week.

At the Geneva show, Renault's Romanian subsidiary Dacia is also expected to announce the development of a compact utility vehicle based on its low-cost Logan/Sandero platform.

What this means to you: Trust Renault to follow its own path in design, especially on its intriguing concepts. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
