PARIS — Roger Penske's Penske Automotive Group reportedly is looking to use Saturn dealerships as a distribution format for vehicles imported from Renault Samsung Motors of South Korea.

International media, led by Automotive News, are reporting that Penske met with Carlos Ghosn, head of the Renault-Nissan group that owns more than 80 percent of Renault Samsung, earlier this month. And Penske has brought in Tom LaSorda, former Chrysler co-president, as a consultant and is talking with two major auto dealers in Michigan in his plan to bid for Saturn.

Renault Samsung Motors produces the SM3, SM5 and SM7 sedans and the QM5 crossover vehicle, made in South Korea.

Inside Line says: A complicated plan that will keep analysts and observers buzzing for the next few months. — Laura Sky Brown, Correspondent
