PARIS — Previewed earlier this year at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show, the redesigned Renault Megane Sport Tourer begins reaching European showrooms this week, with the first deliveries of the new wagon slated to commence in November.

Prices in the U.K. will start at $25,500 and will range up to $37,600.

Renault is fitting an updated line of gasoline and diesel engines, along with an optional continuously variable transmission.

The base Megane Sport Tourer comes equipped with such features as 15-inch wheels and tires, air-conditioning, side curtain airbags, stability control, power windows and keyless start. Among the options are leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof and a Carminat TomTom sat-nav system.

Inside Line says: One of Europe's sexiest wagons. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
