PARIS — Renault will unveil its face-lifted Clio supermini at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show. The little car gets a new look, especially in the front, that gives it a stronger sibling resemblance to the larger Mégane.

The Clio gets cosmetic changes including a new grille and headlamp design, revised rear bumper and taillights and changes to interior trim specs. The overall appearance is more sporty and aggressive than before.

A GT model will debut with this new generation of Clio. It has a revised suspension, extended side sills and twin tailpipes. Cosmetically, the GT model has a gloss black grille and comes in an exclusive Malta Blue color. Inside there are GT badges on the seats, drilled aluminum pedals and added side support on the seats.

All Clios can get an optional integrated Carminat GPS navigation system co-developed with TomTom that has a 5.8-inch color screen and is updatable via the Internet. It will cost the equivalent of $735, Renault says.

The new Clio goes on sale this spring in Europe as a 2010 model.

Inside Line says: Pretty bold new look for the little Renault. — Laura Sky Brown, Correspondent
