2010 Ram 1500: Though the Ram 1500 with its coil-spring live axle was just introduced last year, the 2010 model, formerly known as Dodge Ram, features a long list of improvements. If you're just driving around, you'll notice that the engine shuts off during deceleration (in Dodge-speak, that's Interactive Decel Fuel Shut Off, iDFSO), and the Ram powered by the 3.7-liter V6 has a fuel-saver indicator light.
If you're towing, you might be more impressed by an available integrated trailer-brake controller, optional power-operated trailer-tow mirrors and an increase in GCWR for the Ram 1500 with a 140.5-inch wheelbase, 5.7-liter V8 and 3.92:1 final-drive ratio, to 15,500 pounds from 14,000 pounds.
And if you're just into looking good, then the iPod glovebox connection, electro-chromic mirrors and 22-inch wheels (R/T model) are for you.
2010 Ram 2500/Ram 3500: The heavy-duty version of the full-size Ram pickup truck has a true, crew-size cab available if that's what you want. Thanks to retuned suspension components and some magic in the cab's C-pillar, the ride is more comfortable. You have a choice between a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 and a turbocharged 6.7-liter Cummins diesel (with exhaust jake brake!).
The Ram 2500's GVWR has been increased to 9,600 pounds for 4WD crew cab and Mega Cab models equipped with the Cummins turbodiesel. The Ram 3500 has a towing capacity of 18,500 pounds and a maximum payload of 5,110 pounds.
Three cab styles (Regular, Crew and Mega), two cargo boxes (6-foot-4 and 8-foot even) and single- and dual-side rear wheels are available. You can run biodiesel now, but only if you're a fleet customer.
