Tuner Special: 9ff Porsche Panamera

DORTMUND, Germany — Porsche's new Panamera has yet to make its official debut, but German tuner 9ff is already taking orders for a modified version of the four-door sports car.

The 9ff Web site says the company is accepting orders, but it's not even clear what customers are ordering. 9ff offers no details on what kind of modifications future owners can expect, showing only a sketch with unique wheels on a body that closely mirrors what we've seen in spy photos. But if the company's work on other Porsche models is any indication, the 9ff Panamera will pack plenty of power under the hood. 9ff offers multiple Porsche packages that offer in excess of 800 horsepower.

The Panamera will launch in early 2009, initially offered with either a 405-hp V8 or a 520-hp turbocharged V8.

What this means to you: Panamera buyers won't have to wait long after they receive their cars to up the performance and customize the appearance. — Eric Tingwall, Correspondent
