SHANGHAI, China — The 2010 Porsche Panamera finally made its formal debut here at the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show, in a nod to the growing importance of the China market to Porsche and other luxury European brands. The German automaker said the Panamera will go on sale early next year in China, with prices ranging from $270,000 for the Panamera S to $365,000 for the range-topping Panamera Turbo.

The new four-door goes on sale in Europe in September, priced from around $105,000, and will hit U.S. dealers in mid-October, with stickers starting at just under $90,000.

In addition to the normally aspirated and twin-turbocharged V8 models, Porsche is working on V6 and hybrid variants for 2010-11. Company executives said there is no Panamera diesel planned at the moment.
