PFAFFENHAUSEN, Germany — Porsche tuner Ruf Automobile has followed the Geneva unveiling of its 911-based eRuf Greenster with the introduction of a battery-powered edition of the Porsche Cayenne, dubbed the eRuf Stormster .

Sharing the Greenster's 362-horsepower Siemens electric motor, the Stormster features a lithium-ion battery pack from Li-Tec. It gallops from zero to 60 mph in less than 10 seconds, with a top speed of 93 mph and a range of 124 miles between charges.

The Stormster rides on Ruf five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Hankook 295/30R22 rubber.

Ruf said the Stormster will be available in the standard Cayenne body as well as a wide-body Stormster Green variant.

Inside Line says: We can't help but wonder if Ruf has considered doing a battery-powered Viper. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
