Tuner Special: Gemballa Porsche Carrera GT Carbon Edition

    2 Ratings
LEONBERG, Germany — Porsche specialist Gemballa has updated its treatment for the Porsche Carrera GT with its Mirage GT Carbon Edition that ups power and — like the name says — changes the look with a variety of carbon-fiber accents.

The 5.7-liter V10 gets output increased to 670 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, which consequently helps the midengine sports car sprint to 60 mph in under 3.7 seconds and make it to 124 mph in just 9.7 seconds. Both times are down 0.2 of a second from stock. It will be capable of speeds up to 208 mph.

Although Gemballa is keeping details scant, the vehicle does get a bunch of carbon-fiber accoutrements for the exterior and ceramic brakes to help cut weight. The black-and-white scheme is enhanced with the new carbon work, although the German tuner spices up the look with the painted red calipers, red detailing in the headlights and colored wheel center caps. Its more aggressive stance is finished off with a set of blacked-out alloys.

This is just Gemballa's most recent effort with the Carrera GT; you can check out all the other editions on the company's Web site.

Inside Line says: Looks like the black-and-white look is popular now among Porsche tuners. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
