STUTTGART, Germany — Porsche's forthcoming 2011 911 GT2 RS has been leaked on the Internet after it appeared at a dealer event in Germany ahead of the car's planned unveiling on May 14. The 911 GT2 RS is said to have 620 horsepower, an impressive improvement on the 542 hp expected on the Porsche 911 GT2.
The lightweight 911 GT2 RS will be a track racer with an under-3.2-second 0-60-mph time. Rumor has it that the car lapped the Nurburgring in 7 minutes, 22 seconds.
Only 300 copies of the GT2 RS will be built, and the price will be more than $317,000, according to speculation on Teamspeed, Autoblog, and other Web sites on Tuesday.

I don't get where bringing in the historical or political baggage from 70 years ago should have any bearing on the discussion, but I guess to each his own.
If you have a great design, it doesn't have to undergo a revolutionary change every 4 years. This iteration looks great to my eyes. The fact that the same basic design language is still working after 30 years is something to be celebrated. We've seen a ton of designs that looked played after 3 years let alone 3 decades. Given their sales success and customer loyalty, I think Porsche knows what they're doing in this area.

Wow, what a ground breaking design! OMG, look at that brand new body shell. Could never tell it was a Porsche 911... NOT.
Enough is enough, how long are those Germans going to milk the same design? Hitler would be proud that something he commissioned and Ferdinand Porsche designed is still in use today. Porsche 911 - the thousand year reich!!
Ferrari should have keep making 308s with bigger engines. would have save so much in design cost.

Still i guess the ZR1 costs a third of that. Also, unbelievably the ZR1 will probably have a lessor chance of killing you.
