2000 Porsche 911 Turbo
FRANKFURT - 420 horsepower, 4.2-second zero-to-60 times, and a top speed of 190 mph. Yes, the new Porsche 911 Turbo has arrived, and the rest of the automotive world just got a little slower. Based on the new 996 platform that debuted in 1997, the latest turbo features all-wheel drive, Porsche Stability Management (PSM), 18-inch wheels with 295/30R-18 tires and a modified outer shell with additional cooling vents.
Adding to the 911 Turbo's performance pedigree is a list of standard luxury items that include metallic paint, leather upholstery, electric seats with driver's seat memory, an on-board computer, electric trunk and hood releases and remote keyless entry.
Finally, just to further goad all those "traditionalists" who think the latest 911 is a poser sports car, the new Turbo can be had with a Tiptronic S transmission. Ha! Take that you leather-gloved freaks!
