Pontiac Vibe GT-R
What's special about it?
If there was any doubt that GM has jumped on the tuner bandwagon, just take one look at the Vibe GT-R a modified version of the Vibe GT that has yet to even go on sale yet.
The GT-R is a slightly edgier, more dynamic version of the Vibe GT that debuts next year. The GT-R gets a full makeover with new front and rear fascias, a Ram Air hood and dual rear spoilers. A Ground Control/Eibach adjustable suspension lowers the vehicle a full 3 inches and 19-inch Montegi wheels and tires are fitted to complete the street racer look. Under the hood, the stock 1.8-liter engine has been reworked for an extra 10 horsepower, bringing the total to 190.
Inside, Momo accessories like street racer seats and aluminum pedals and side sills add to the custom look. An upgraded Kenwood stereo system is ready to rock this high-performance Vibe with an MP3 player, digital equalizer and 250 watts of amplified power.
Why should you care?
The Vibe is one of the most promising products to come out of Pontiac in a long time. The fact that GM is already debuting a performance concept version of this vehicle so early indicates that the company is serious about becoming a force in the aftermarket scene. Ed Hellwig
