SOCHAUX, France — PSA Peugeot Citroën has partnered with Bosch to produce its diesel hybrid technology seen on the Peugeot Prologue and Citroën Hypnos concepts at the 2008 Paris Auto Show. The technology will appear in showrooms starting in 2011.

The Prologue concept served as a preview of the upcoming 3008 mini-MPV while the Hypnos is a low-slung crossover concept. Both concepts make a claimed 200 horsepower from their hybrid powertrains.

Under the agreement, Bosch will supply Peugeot with electric motors and the electronic systems for PSA Peugeot Citroën's four-wheel-drive diesel hybrids. The company will also supply the antilock braking system and electronic stability program to maximize energy recovery. Bosch's experience with hybrids goes back 30 years, and the company currently has 370 employees working in its hybrid unit.
