PARIS — Peugeot continues to flesh out its 207 SW series with a new variant, the RC.

The smallest wagon in Peugeot's stable adds a sporty sibling in the 207 SW RC, which features a large aero rear spoiler mounted on the tailgate, double chrome-plated tailpipes, a new front fascia with aluminum painted grille, dark-tinted side glass, satin-chrome mirrors and diamond-cut alloy wheels shod with Bridgestone Potenza 205/45R17 tires.

The 207 SW RC also has a panoramic glass roof with electric sunblind, as well as remote-controlled rear glass that opens separately from the tailgate.

Power comes from a turbocharged 1.6-liter direct-injection four-cylinder engine that delivers 175 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed gearbox is standard. Top speed is 135 mph, with 0-60-mph acceleration in less than 7.6 seconds. Combined fuel economy is 32 mpg.

The suspension is upgraded for better dynamic performance. Electronic stability control and four-wheel disc brakes are standard.

Interior features include a perforated-leather steering wheel, drilled aluminum pedals, a metal gearshift lever, instrument dials with red match needles and floor mats trimmed in black leather with gray stitching.

What this means to you: Spacious AND sporty.
