RÜSSELSHEIM, Germany — The 2010 Opel Corsa will be formally introduced at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show. The B-segment hatchback gets significant powertrain and chassis upgrades, but doesn't change much in appearance.
Opel said it has revised the Corsa's major suspension components and steering system, resulting in better ride comfort, more precise steering and greater directional stability.
Corsa continues to offer a wide range of gas and diesel engines, which have been refined to provide more torque, improved fuel economy and lower emissions. Gas engines range from the entry-level 64-horsepower, 1.0-liter three-cylinder to the 189-hp, turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder on the Corsa OPC.
Corsa also offers 1.3- and 1.7-liter four-cylinder turbodiesels, including a revised ecoFLEX 1.3 CDTI that returns 64 mpg on the European test cycle and emits a low 98 g/km of CO2.
In Germany, the new Corsa will come in several new special editions, including a sporty Color Line series, as well as a 111 Limited Edition to mark the brand's 111th anniversary.

The Corsa is the size of a 1996 VW Golf, but the interior space is much smaller. For the american market it is probably too small inside. (The Honda Fit is about the same size, but it has a roomier cabin, besides other goodies like the different ways you fold the rear seats)
The problem with the Saturn Astra brought to the US was that they only added the side markers, and kept the same engine (1.8L) and transmission used in Europe. They could have used the European variant of the 2.2L engine (similar to the one used in the Chevy Cobalt).
Look at the VW Golf, it uses the thirsty 2.5L engine that was specially designed for the US market, and they are selling well. (the 2.5L is not available in Europe).

Probably because no one bought it's bigger brother, the Saturn Astra when they brought that over here.

Why can't GM make cars like this in North America?? They just don't get it. Lets have another Denali or Yukon to add to the lineup.
