TOKYO — Nissan will unveil a new minicar, the Pixo, at the 2008 Paris Auto Show. The car will be assembled in India in partnership with Suzuki and sold in most major markets, except North America.

The Pixo is a four-passenger, five-door hatchback powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine with a four-speed automatic transmission. Nissan said it will be "among the best-value eco-cars in the small-city-car category."

The car measures only 140.4 inches long overall, more than a foot shorter than a Chevrolet Aveo hatchback.

The Pixo will go on sale in Europe in late spring 2009.
