NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nissan will use the upcoming Chicago Auto Show to show off a new 2008 Titan long-wheelbase truck and a 2008 Pathfinder with a 300-horsepower 5.6-liter V8, the first V8 in the Pathfinder's 22-year history in the United States.

The 2008 Pathfinder also receives new front and rear styling, new 17-inch wheel designs for SE-V6 and LE-V6 models, and new 18-inch wheel designs for SE-V8 and LE-V8 models. Plus, the SUV gets fresh exterior colors, including mocha and "neve," which Nissan describes as a "premium three-stage pearl paint color."

The Pathfinder's larger sibling, the 2008 Nissan Armada, gets a new front fascia, new headlamp and foglamp designs, a new one-piece roof rack, a revised rear fascia and a 20-inch wheel-and-tire package for the LE model. New technology upgrades on the Armada include a keyless ignition, enhanced Bose surround sound with Music Box hard drive and third-row speakers, Bluetooth and a larger 8-inch screen for the optional rear-seat entertainment system.

The 2008 Titan adds a long-wheelbase version and a new Titan PRO-4X off-road model. Long-wheelbase extended cabs get an 8-foot long bed while crew cabs get a 7-foot cargo box. Both hit showrooms in the spring. The Titan also gets revised styling, a new seat design and new exterior colors. Further specifications will be released at the Chicago auto show.

What this means to you: If the already stout V6 in the Pathfinder just wasn't enough for you, the V8 should be plenty. New long-wheelbase versions of the Titan give it the kind of full-size utility it's been lacking.
