DETROIT — Nissan is unveiling the e-NV200 concept, which "previews a future affordable, multi-usage zero-emissions small van" that could provide some stiff competition to the Ford Transit Connect Electric.
The e-NV200 shares its electric drive system — an 80kW motor and lithium-ion battery pack — with the Nissan Leaf, with a driving range that's similar. The vehicle is based on the NV200 compact van that was first unveiled nearly three years ago at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show and currently is produced in Japan, China and Europe.
Nissan said the e-NV200 previews "a near-future production version of a full electric vehicle designed to provide businesses or families with flexible, roomy interior space, while achieving a dramatic (reduction in) CO2."
The e-NV200 features a pair of large glass roof panels, which gives the interior a more airy feel, as well as advanced telematics and a digital instrument display that appears to be inspired by an iPad.
Inside Line says: Not much to look at, but the potential of the concept is intriguing.

as any other electric automobile it is useless. If you have more than two kids forget it. They are all a waste of time. Ugly to.

One good thing about this vehicle is that parts are going to become plentyfull and cheap (gas version) as it is used as the NY taxi too.

As a work van this looks great. IL thinks it's not much to look at becsue it doesn't have 600HP and a curb weight of over 4k pounds.
