PARIS — Nissan is premiering its revamped Note compact at the 2008 Paris Auto Show. The car joins Nissan's Pixo city car and battery-powered Nuvu concept on the stand next month.
The Note gets a new front end with changed grille, bumper and headlight design. In back, the "boomerang"-style taillamps are now darker. Nissan has also upgraded the suspension and revised the engine and gearbox ratios on the compact car. The car will have Nissan's 1.5-liter diesel engine with a new particulate filter, introduced earlier this year in the Nissan lineup, that gives it low CO2 emissions of 119 g/km.
The diesel-powered Note will be available this month, while the 1.4-liter gasoline engine version, which makes 139 g/km of CO2 emissions, will be out in October.
Cosmetic changes to the Note include 15- or 16-inch alloy wheels in two new designs; a new exterior color, named Cider but actually a pale green, has been added.
Inside, there are upgrades to the instrument panel, which is now centrally located for a cleaner look. Nissan's new Connect navigation/audio system, also making its debut at the Paris auto show, will be available on the Note starting in January 2009 and will be rolled out on other Nissan models later in the year.
Pricing details have not yet been announced.
