TOKYO — Nissan will pull the wraps off its all-new Global Compact Car at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show in March, which will also mark the world debut of the Juke crossover.
The Global Compact Car — it is expected to get a new name — will replace the long-running March/Micra compact in most world markets. Nissan said it is the first model developed on the company's new V compact platform.
The GCC will go on sale initially in Thailand in March and then will reach European markets in the fall. Nissan has hinted that the car eventually will come to North America.
Nissan also plans to show a face-lifted Qashqai, as well as updates to the Pathfinder and Navara.
Inside Line says: The new GCC is likely to anchor the low end of Nissan's future product stable in North America, beginning in 2012. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

It looks very similar to the Fiat 500.

I am a little bit confused due to the change of name of the platform.
The current Nissan Micra/March is based on the Nissan-Renault platform B (Clio III, Tiida, Versa, Cube, Note).
Is this new compact V platform, the new platform for the segment B in Europe?
Is a new Versa (or whatever name they choose for their sub compact in the US) going to be built on this platform?
