"The gold finish has an intense depth that makes it appear liquid to the touch," Nissan said in a statement. "The extreme metallic look is the result of a special-effect pigment added to the paint."
The cabin is equally shocking, with carpets and lower trim panels done up in a "darker acid yellow."
Nissan said its production Micra, revised to look "more mature," will be rolled out at Frankfurt, too. The Micra gets a freshening with chrome touches on the exterior, darkened headlamp surrounds and blackened B-pillars. In the cabin, new features include a speed-limit warning on the steering wheel, which sounds a warning chime when a preset speed limit is breached. The Micra is sold in Nissan's home market, with no plans for a U.S. rollout.
What this means to you: Your future Nissan could have a very eye-catching paint job — and an annoying speed-limit chime.
