TOKYO — Nissan's Nismo and Autech divisions will join the parent in presenting a variety of customized production models at the 2012 Tokyo Auto Salon.

Anchoring the stand at the annual Salon (January 13-15) is the 2013 Nissan GT-R Pure Edition with optional Track Pack (a Japan-only package for now), along with the Skyline 55th Limited Edition sedan, which features aero body add-ons and S-tune components.

The Nismo display will be crowded with special editions of the Juke, the Leaf and the Fairlady Z.

The Juke Nismo Concept from the recent 2011 Tokyo Auto Show is lower and wider than the standard production model, while the Leaf Nismo Concept gets a subtly styled body kit with larger wheels and tires. The Leaf Nismo RC racer debuted earlier this year at the 2011 New York Auto Show, while the Fairlady Z Nismo gets additional bodywork and appearance upgrades.

Autech has tuned and prepped special versions of Nissan's Japan-market people movers, including the NV350 Caravan Rider, the Elgrand Rider High-Performance Spec Black Line and the Serene Rider Performance Spec Black Line.

Inside Line says: Not much here that hasn't been previously displayed in Japan and overseas.

I like the way this Juke looks but what holds this production version up is the choice of 6spd manual and a CVT. It could use a DSG dual clutch 6spd auto . if it had the DSG and the way this one looks I could be interested.

To all of my friends on the IL blog,

I know during the year we may disagree about which car is best, but in the true spirit of the season I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas.
