    Just the Facts:
    • Shipments of the 2012 Nissan GT-R to the U.S. have been delayed by the massive earthquake in Japan, but a shipment of more than 600 Nissan Leafs destined for the U.S. left port just before disaster struck.
    • Nissan North America tells Inside Line that despite the delay, it has a "comfortable amount" of 2012 GT-Rs already in the U.S.
    • The earthquake is not expected to disrupt Nissan's plans for the upcoming 2011 New York Auto Show.

FRANKLIN, Tennessee — Shipments of the 2012 Nissan GT-R to the U.S. have been delayed by the massive earthquake in Japan, but a shipment of more than 600 Nissan Leafs destined for the U.S. left port just before disaster struck, the automaker said on Monday.

Despite the delay, Nissan North America tells Inside Line that it has a "sufficient supply" of 2012 GT-Rs already in the U.S. But it would not reveal the precise number. "We have a comfortable amount," said David Reuter, Nissan North America vice president of corporate communications, in a phone conversation on Monday with Inside Line. He said he did not know if any GT-Rs were damaged in the disaster.

"We do not have information on that," he said.

Nissan's Tochigi Plant, where the GT-R is built, is one of six Nissan facilities in Japan that have reported some damage to buildings or equipment in the aftermath of Friday's earthquake. Operations at that plant have been suspended until this Friday.

Reuter also said that he did not "anticipate any changes to our plans" for the 2011 New York Auto Show next month because of the earthquake. But he added: "The situation continues to develop."

In a statement on Monday, the automaker said "some Infiniti models and Nissan GT-R and 370Z may experience delays in shipment to the U.S. and Canada, with full impact still being assessed."

Nissan begun selling the 2012 GT-R in the U.S. a few weeks ago.

Inside Line says: A clearer picture is beginning to emerge about how the catastrophe in Japan will affect car sales in the U.S. for automakers such as Nissan. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent

The stickers on cars usually show the composition of resources on the manufactured car.  Most cars from American companies don't even use resources from the U.S.  More foreign carmakers use American labor and resources than those who "Import from Detroit."

So yeah, keep being proud, that's one of the reasons most non-immigrant Americans are pieces.  The superiority complex mentality that really helps out your community.  The "I'm better, richer, and smarter than you" attitude that really does a great job in bringing cohesion to a divided nation.

I will honestly never buy an American car, because they are made like shlt, doesn't use American labor or resources as much as foreign automakers.  Foreign car companies in America do not need unions because they treat their employees well.  Unions are what destroyed Detroit.  Unions are not the same as they used to be at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, where everything was messed up for workers' safety.

I'm glad to see at least the majority of those who post on IL are educated and logical-thinkers.  As for dgmail and zr1man, both who are in denial and completely delusional, should probably get checked into McLean Hospital.

Does anyone know how to use peace and piece anymore?

    Examples:
    ZR1man & dgmail = pieces of shlt
When I am in a GTR, I am at peace.

    Zr1man:
Wow... u are something! In this space we are here to talk about Automobiles not War. What  u are sayin is once again totally outta-line & racist & off topic!!!!
U obviously have something against the Japanese..

SALES ARE SLOW  ON SPORTSCARS  IN GENERAL EVERYWHERE...
Nissan sold more than 1,800 GT-R's & that's more than enough for them to be happy.. They don't  depend on the sales of the GT-R to stay up float.that's just extra pocket change for Nissan. I cant say the same for General motors. They have reported  3yrz ago that they are dependant on corvette sales.. that's the reason they make so many edition & special edition corvettes. Still for me. The corvette is a slow car cuse' I see them LOSE' all the time out at the track.. & in magazines.. Have u read the new MOTOR TREND MAGAZINE?? Have u read the new shootout in this months edition?(Shelby VS.GT-R VS ZO6) they talk about the fastest sportscar under $100,000 & GUESS WHO WON AGAIN??? HAHAHAHA!!
U have 2)vettes &1) zr1.. Congrates!!.. So ur ZR1 that is worth more than $100,000bux that's what it takes to defeat the GT-R?? hahaha. wow.. THE SLOW z06 that is also worth more than the GT-R cant get the job done... Hahanah!! that's sad..
A modified GT-R wit the same price range as ur zr1 will easily defeat ur zr1.
& U KNOW IT...IF U CANT ADMIT TO IT. WELL. THAT'S ANOTHER STORY!

The American Automotive Industry is suffering. & who is to blame??.. Them! Why? Cuse they knew that the competition was here from foreign automotive companies.specially TOYOTA,HONDA,NISSAN. & what did they do?? Nothing in the past.. Now they are all scrambling wit new ideas in how to defeat them cuse they dug them selves into a big hole' that they are tryin to get out.. Where is CHRYSLER now?? U know the answer to that? The Day I see an American car wit quality, great fit & finish, & most important RELIABLE THAT WONT LEAVE ME ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD!!! I will buy.. Trust me. I will.. A car is an investment & u have to get what u pay for. I don't buy peaces of junk!!

    @ zr1man

    Of cousre you would state:
"The people of japan did not have any mercy on our troops at Pearl Harbor. It is a  fact they attacked and killed 2,403 men, women and children in a cowardly surprise attack. We were their allies and they stabbed us in the back. They are no better than terrorists. Do we simply forgive that because it was 70 short years ago? I think not."

America has responded against Japan with the Atomic Nuclear bomb which has killed thousands and thousands of Japanese. And that also helped end the war. Some Japanese people (Even today) are still affected by it with diseases from the Atomic Bomb and those are the ones that survived that attack.

Since then America has helped recovered some Japanese people and made piece with Japan a long time ago because they've suffered from our retaliation. America won because of that.

The Japanese Government (Even today) are still Aiding their people who are still affected by it. Japan has already paid for their mistakes so Get over this crap already. THE WAR IS OVER.

All this stupid history crap is no bullsh@#$% excuse for anyone not getting their foreign products like Sony, Nintendo, their motorcycles and Automobiles. Unlike North Korea, we actually achieved piece with the Japanese and the South Koreans because as Americans...at least trying to make the effort of achieving PIECE IS WHAT WE DO. So cut the historical crap already because nobody cares about that anymore.

We're not gonna base your conception of "Be proud Buy American" bulls@#$%&  because you like to dwell from the past of history.

@dgmail: "Ever sat in a gtr?  I have.
Nissan sentra with a Wal-mart body kit, interior looks like a 80's Pac-man game with cheap looking Toyota plastics."

1st, after your comment about the Japan quake, I doubt anybody here will take you seriously anymore.

2nd, if you called the GTR interior 'cheap looking', I'm not sure what you would call the Corvette's...
(which IMO, clearly worse... again, both design and material...)

"I don't even read zr1man's advertisements any longer, it's borderline trolling. Anyways, is the GT-R barely selling as the last blog post said, or is it a "popular model" as this one claims? All the best to them over there digging themselves out, it's awful looking."

Sure you read my comments. You wouldn't respond if you didn't.
To answer your question: The gtr is a lousy selling car. Remember, inside line has no credibility at all. They will say one thing on one forum and something else in the next.

They are idiots. I get a lot of laughs out of it.
