FRANKLIN, Tennessee — Nissan on Thursday announced pricing on its 2011 GT-R, saying that it has eliminated the base model, which leaves only the more expensive premium version. The 2011 Nissan GT-R Premium starts at $85,060, including a $1,000 destination charge.

Jeremy clarkson compared driving the bmw Z8 to driving a garbage truck. So what. He didn't like the car and out of dislike for the car, he made a negative comparison. He offered his opinion. Human beings apparently tend to do that.

There are people in the world who hate nissan, hate the gt-r, hate japanese cars, with a passion and (as in debs case) will do so without touching their products and will make a comptetely subjective analysis. This is going to be shocking news, so sit yourself down before you read the next sentence.

Given the two facts above, you are totally wating your time trying to beat someone elses opinion with your own. It like trying to power a sail boat by having a fan blow on the sails, you get nowhere fast.

Wow the Sentra comments are insane.  I have personally driven the GT-R and Porsche 911 Turbo on some of the back roads of SoCal, and the GT-R out does the German car in terms of comfort and even handling. Yes I said better handling then a Porsche, but I am talking first hand experience here, not import magazine hating people that have driven neither.  The Z06 and GT-R are very comparible, but the GT-R would win on the track and on comfort.

I'm sorry but anyone calling this amazing machine like this a Sentra is just plain idiotic!! Get a grip people!! Take one for a test drive, and then comment until then please shut you ignorant pie holes.

I drive strictly certain Japanese cars depending on year and make, but I don't hate on the u.s. domestic.  There are plenty of old and new models made by u.s. car manufacturers that I would recommend to my friends. I wont be goin' cruisin with those friends though, son.  Any car manufacturer is bound to make a bad car, any one of em'.  Just don't buy from what you want, don't bicker on forums dissin' imports.  Don't hate on what people wanna drive.

I saw one of these at the autoshow two years ago and it never really looked very appealing. Very Mitsubishi-ish.

No, you have not driven a GT-R.
The fact that you compare it to the lifeless crap known as the Sentra just proves it. Maybe you haven't driven a Sentra as of late, but they're lofty, unexciting, pieces of crap. Same with the Versa. As with the 4 Cylinder Altima. Those vehicles are to just get people from point A to point B with a bit of excitement seeing as how Toyota vehicles literally have no excitement or soul. Hondas are oddly styled, and are a PITA to do simple things such as changing headlights. They purposely make things harder for you do maintain yourself.
Nissan is the only one of the three who combine decent DIY engineering, quality, and excitement.

Nissan stopped using the "most reliable" card back after the original Z's were out since American and  Euro cars (British Sports cars namely) were near terrible in comparison. Now they market themselves as excitable dependent vehicles.

You're hardly making sense. You've worked at every Japanese dealer and drove their vehicles? AND you got "Burned"?
Seems like something personal happened to you and you hold it against the Japanese manufacturers.
My immediate family has owned a Subaru, a Salvaged Corolla given away to a cousin, and a Civic in the 80's. Then an Infiniti Q45 in 1991, '99 and an '00 Civic, and then a 2000 Q45. Then two '06 Civics, and a 2006 Xterra. Not to mention, a series of Dodge and Chrysler Vans from the 90's to 2000. What were our most unreliable cars? The 2000 Chrysler Voyager. The older ones were decently reliable, but lately their quality has slipped through the times. Did any Japanese vehicle that we own(ed) have problems? No. From Nissans, Hondas, an old Subaru (Got us flawlessly from Texas to New York in the snow), and one old Corolla. If I include my friends and extended family, Acuras, Lexus', Imprezza WRX's, etc. Nobody has had a problem.
The cars they have had problems with: a Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, BMW X5, a 2000 BMW 740i, and a Ford Expedition.

Your grudge against Japanese vehicles makes me laugh because you pretty much troll on here about Toyotas, Nissans, and Hondas... Wheres your comment on the Suzuki Kizashi? Thought you hated all Japanese brands.

:)))  Well, if you are looking at buying a GT-R vs. ZO6 all comes down to looks  and some pricing too.   You want something original and easy to get in out get the GT-R.  If you want a track, road tire burning, don't care about comfort get the ZO6.  Both cars are as close as you want to get to a Ferrari performance I.M.O and way more cheaper.  Also, both cars are awesome machines in their own class.

The GT-R is now a $10k price premium over a Corvette Z06.  It's debatable which is the better car at the same price.  But the GT-R is not $10k better than a Z06, IMO.  Unless you REALLY need a back seat, and need computers and AWD to help you drive well.

Maybe YOU should stop commenting here, icecubefosho. Deb gave his/her/its opinion and clearly they don't think much of the GT-R. A lot of people don't. Get over it.

Jesus Christ debbaranko, you really should stop commenting here.

Toyota - Person should be jailed/is crazy for driving in their Toyota with their kid

Titan - "This will end up as a DUD like the Nissan Titan and Armada. I wouldnt want to see a plumber put this ugly truck in my driveway.  I would live with a backed up toilet before that would happen." - Stupidest comment I've read here for a good while.

GTR - Sentra?! What do YOU drive?
