TOKYO — It's official. There will be a 2010 Nissan GT-R Spec V and it will be sold in United States. At this week's Tokyo auto show, a Nissan source confirmed that a lightweight, more powerful version of the new GT-R supercar is nearly complete and will arrive in America about a year after the 2009 sedan hits U.S. dealers early next summer.

On Wednesday, Nissan announced that its 3,836-pound 2009 GT-R is good for 473 horsepower at 6,400 rpm.

Specifications for the 2010 GT-R Spec-V have not been announced.
