Nissan did not provide such details as whether the GT-R was riding on standard Japan- market tires, whether it had any modifications or what the weather conditions were at the time.
"This record demonstrates our commitment to the continuous evolution of the Nissan GT-R," said Kazutoshi Mizuno, Nissan chief vehicle engineer and chief vehicle specialist in a statement.
Porsche accused Nissan of falsifying earlier claims of Nürburgring lap times in September 2008. The German automaker said it conducted its own test of the GT-R using no modifications and stock tires and achieved a best time of 7:54.
