Nissan Markets 2009 Cube With "Mobile Hub" and iPhone App

    0 Ratings
FRANKLIN, Tennessee — The 2009 Nissan Cube, which went on sale this week, is being marketed with an up-to-the-minute "Mobile Hub" that lets Cube owners and fans download a variety of Cube multimedia content including ring tones, wallpapers, music and videos. Access to the Hub, naturally, is via text message, starting May 15.

"We envision owners using their Cubes as one of their essential mobile devices," said Christian Meunier, Nissan marketing vice president. He called the Mobile Hub a means of "connecting with friends, sharing music and sharing fun" and said the marketing campaign is meant to give "owners and prospective buyers alike a variety of ways to interact with and learn more about this unique new vehicle."

On June 15, Nissan will roll out its Cube Party Roundup iPhone application. The app sends up to eight players on missions to pick up friends and items before going to a virtual party. Players will also be able to go on dates and to concerts in the game while avoiding various obstacles. In early July, a Facebook version of the game will be released.

The Nissan Cube is priced starting at $13,990. Complete details are on the dedicated Cube Web site.

Inside Line says: While most marketing campaigns stop with the iPhone application, Nissan takes it a step further with the Facebook version of its Party Roundup game. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
