    Just the Facts:
    • Top Gear is offering a track day in a Nissan Z with The Stig to 20 U.K. contest winners.
    • Four people will also be chosen to write a review of the Z.
    • The contest is open to U.K. residents only.

LONDON — Doing anything special on June 15? Twenty lucky U.K. contestants will be able to say they drove a Nissan Z on the track in Surrey, England, under the supervision of Top Gear's legendary mystery man, The Stig. It's all thanks to the sardonic geniuses at the British car magazine, in conjunction with Nissan.

Top Gear also says it's looking for "independent thinkers" to review the 370Z and will choose four people to drive one for two weeks and then write about it for the magazine. The contests are part of a Web-driven promotional campaign called "We Are Traitors" that positions the Z as the car for "the dreamers, the fighters and the outlaws. Those from the other side." The 370Z sells for the equivalent of $42,975-$53,800 in the U.K.

The perennially helmeted and visored Stig can be seen taking the 370Z around the test track in a video on the Top Gear Web site.

They already tested the 370Z in an earlier episode and though they liked handling the conclusion was that it was too noisy and tough to drive on regular roads.

I love top Gear and it truly is one of the most entertaining shows on TV, but if this is a contest done in conjuction with Nissan, then don't they risk losing all sense of objectivity? The article says that the contest is part of a promo campaign so who else would be behind it but the manufacturer.
