WASHINGTON — Nissan is recalling 1,788 2011 Nissan 370Zs and 2011-'12 Infiniti G37 Coupes because of a defective power window switch controller, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
"Due to a programming error, the power window switch controller was manufactured out of specification," said NHTSA in its recalls summary of the problem. "The auto-reverse feature of the power windows does operate; however, should a body part become trapped by a closing window, a pinch injury may result before the window reverses."
In documentation filed with the federal government, Nissan attributed the defect to "a supplier programming error that has since been corrected."
Nissan and Infiniti dealers will replace the power window switches. The recall is expected to begin on November 28. Owners can contact Nissan at (800) 647-7261 or Infiniti at (800) 662-6200.
Inside Line says: If you own the 2011 Nissan 370Z or 2011-'12 Infiniti G37 Coupe, be aware that a recall is in the works.

I feel that Nissan is doing the responsible thing. Kudos to them. People should stop trolling posts on specific manufacturers when it has nothing do to with their fanboy manufacturer.

@zr1man
Really? this is a recall for 1800 vehicles...a precautionary recall, kinda like the ones GM/Chevy put out on a frequent basis. Whats the point here?, Stuff happens to ALL automakers, if you look long and hard enough you will find it on the web. Look what I "happened" to find on GM/Chevy; A few articles about build quality and reliability that may interest you:

I know that if I feel like arguing with a judgmental, typical and biased individual all I have to do is look for Chevy and Nissan posts. There I will find our favorite individual and their name is "ZR1man."
I have never seen a person so angry at ALL other car makers, cultures, races and anything that is not himself or his Vettes, take your pick. NO car maker other than GM can do anything right according to his "delusional" bible. (bible meaning his mind) Everything else sucks compared to his precious opinions and his precious Corvette(s). Not too long ago, ALL GM products simply did not make the list for reliability, and build quality. Ironically, we (meaning ZR1man) seem to be sure never to admit such a thing, but all those (including myself) who have owned any GM products from 1990's-2002 may never admit but can say "yeah, they weren't so reliable" or "yeah the build quality is a little on the shaky side."
Sure I had a few GM products and even with proper maintenance and careful "usage" of these cars, GM as a company let me down. Did I decide to come onto a forum about cars and spew my hate? nope, I just went somewhere else to buy my cars/trucks. Give a legitimate opinion, thats all that is needed here, not the "I hate the Japs, I hate anyone/anything that is not GM/ be proud buy American/ yadda yadda yadda.
Most people are rooting for GM, then and now. Hell, I am! I love all cars no matter who makes them, therefore I am a true enthusiast. I don't have a problem with cars or carmakers, only the folks that spew hate and mask it in a forum about cars.
Hey man, I am all for loving your cars or the company that makes your cars or trucks, but seriously lighten up dude. Don't let your car make and model define you as a man, which I am assuming you are a man.

@dmpete, you have to understand the level of idot you are dealing with when talking to @zr1man. IF he even really has the cars he claims, he must not be able to drive them with the amount of time he spends bashing everything but a vette. HE is so focused on the GTR that it only leads me to believe he wishes he had one and the ablity to handle it on the road.
@zr1man, you end your posts with "Be Proud. Buy American" but you fail to understand a lot of the parts or the cars for that matter are built here or employee AMERICANS. Nissan, Honda, and Toyota provide jobs for as many if not more AMERICANS than Government Motors. IF you want a check list of poor build quality, pull up the recall list for GM.

Frankly I am a little tired of you bashing every single car but a corvette. Here is a GIANT clue for you, no one cares what you drive. I own a 09 370, and it is a great car. Even if my model year was in the recall, it still would not be a problem for me. I am glad that you are happy with your 2 corvettes, good for you I am happy with my Z, but I am not going forum to forum bashing the vette. Really ZR1man find a hobby, you'll live longer.

Not surprising. What do you expect from nissan. They do not make world class automobiles. They are made with cheap japanese parts.
Be Proud. Buy American

Infiniti has a strict five year refresh cycle that they stick to, so the new G sedan should be coming out this upcoming spring. In fact, there were car surveys recently that were held that showed the G prototype. The G coupe came out a year after the 2nd generation sedan, so they are right in line.
I would have to agree with you that Audi and Merc uses superior materials, but BMW? Seriously? They have the absolute worst interiors in class. Their leather is fake, dashboard configurations are awkward. Have you seen Bangle's dash design? It looks like there are two instrument clusters in the front, looks like complete shit.
CTS is not even a competitor among these classes. They have the largest exterior, yet the smallest interior. Not sure how you could even put that car in the same class. Cadillac and Lincoln are both in a subclass beneath Lexus, Infiniti, BMW, Audi, and Merc.

Infiniti G Coupe is in a serious need for a replacement. Even though this car is "only" 5 years old (2008 model year), it feels like a 7-8 year old car. Infinity didn't do enough to change the G35, which resulted in G37 aging much quicker than normal. Also, the new CTS is going to come out soon and Mercedes, BMW and Audi all have superior interior materials. The new base 3-series acceleration is under 6 seconds. The G37 needs to step up and make a more radical exterior design change, as well as seriously modernize the interior design/materials.
