    What are they?

    What's special about them?
Designed as vehicles to reconnect urbanites with the outdoors, the SUP and SUP convertible are four-passenger utility vehicles that display some truly unique features. A full-length lamella roof panel lets in plenty of sunlight in the standard version, while a fully retractable roof really lets you feel the wind in your hair on the convertible model. Should you decide to take a little side trip, seat-mounted back packs, a fresh water shower and a first aid kit in the rear quarter-panel assure that you'll have everything you need for a quick hike in the mountains.

The environmentally friendly hybrid drivetrain combines an ultra-efficient direct injection gasoline engine with zero emission traction motors. The gas engine feeds power to the rear wheels through an automated manual transmission, while the electric motors turn the rear wheels.

    Why should you care?
We're not sure why anyone would care about this four-passenger "utility" vehicle other than its eco-friendly drivetrain. Even the convertible version failed to inspire much enthusiasm. Looks like its back to the drawing board for Mitsubishi. — Ed Hellwig
