LONDON — Lucky Brits. Now they can order the new FQ-330 SST edition of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, and get more power and a dual-clutch Sports Shift Transmission.
The Lancer Evo FQ-330 SST gets a serious kick in the pants, from 295 to 329 horsepower and from 300 to 322 pound-feet of torque. When mated with the six-speed twin-clutch gearbox, 0-60-mph acceleration is trimmed from 4.7 to 4.4 seconds, while top speed remains unchanged at 155 mph (electronically governed).
The power boost is the result of a breathing kit, a remapping of the engine control unit and the adaptation of a high-performance exhaust, intercooler piping kit and upgraded catalytic converter.
Other goodies on the car include Mitsubishi's Super-All Wheel Control system, 18-inch Enkei alloys, Brembo brakes, Bilstein shocks, Eibach springs, Recaro seats, Rockford Fosgate audio system, satellite navigation and iPod plug-in.
The Lancer Evo FQ-330 SST will retail in the U.K. for $56,729, compared with $52,000 for the Lancer Evo FQ-300.
