EPA Guide Reveals: Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback To Come in Ralliart and GTS Editions

    0 Ratings
WASHINGTON — The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has certified two engines for sale in the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback, indicating the car will be offered initially only in Ralliart and GTS variants.

The Lancer Sportback garners EPA city/highway ratings of 17/25 mpg for the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and six-speed TC-SST transmission — a combination that is specific to the Ralliart.

Available only in the Lancer Sportback GTS is the normally aspirated DOHC 2.4-liter four-cylinder with a choice of five-speed manual (EPA rated at 20/27 mpg) or CVT (21/27 mpg).

Inside Line says: Probably a good idea to leave the low-end "stripper" model back in the barn. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
