SANTA MONICA, California — The 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is shaping up as one of the more outstanding lease deals of the fall shopping season, according to Edmunds.com. At $389, the Lancer Evolution "is ranked at the top of our metrics as far as lease deals go," says Jessica Caldwell, manager of pricing and industry analysis for Edmunds.com.
The lease deal is for a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR four-door sedan with all-wheel drive and with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine linked to a five-speed manual transmission. This particular Lancer Evo has an MSRP of $32,990.
The car is described by Edmunds.com editors in glowing terms. "Die-hard fans may be wary of a more civilized 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, but this one hasn't lost its overall touch," the editors say in their summary of the car. "It's one of the best-performing cars for under $40,000."
