@isend2c, the rear seats in the standard convertible are a joke. Actually impractical for most typically sized Americans. That's the case with most coupes anyway. I like the manufacturer being honest, ditching the useless rear seats, and making a more tidy roadster, which hopefully is lighter and better handling than a car extended several inches for fictional rear seat passengers. The Clubman is NICE! Someone as large as me can sit in the reat seat and actually be comfortable, including ingress/egress.

I think their lineup is great. Something for everyone who likes Mini styling. If their research didn't tell them there were buyers for all these models, I don't think they would have risked producing them.

Why does Mini have that?  The Convertible is too practical for people, so they figure some will buy the more expensive and worse roadster variant?  Srsly.  I'm fine with Mini having 2 models: hardtop and convertible.  The Clubman is a waste, I dig the Countryman for it's extra utility but the coupe and roadster are both worthless.

Wondering how much room this roadster offers the driver, compared to a Miata, S2000, TT or SLK...
