LONDON — Mini is touting plans to unveil a new concept on September 23 at the London Design Festival.
Details about the concept are sketchy, and Mini quickly removed a teaser image from its Facebook page that was linked to the event. It is also holding a contest that will give five people two tickets to the September 23 event. The contest is only open to U.K. residents.
"The event will take place in central London and include a special guest star as well as Adrian van Hooydonk, BMW group head of design, who will unveil the new concept as part of an exclusive event during the London Design Festival," according to Mini's U.K. Facebook page.
The speculation is that the new design concept might be a JCW Countryman or a two-door Countryman.
Inside Line says: We're shut out of the contest, but it will be interesting to watch what Mini has up its sleeve in advance of the 2010 Paris Auto Show. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
