AACHEN, Germany — AC Schnitzer, the seasoned BMW tuner, has unveiled an upgrade kit for the just-launched 2009 Mini Cooper convertible.

Schnitzer increases output from 175 to 208 horsepower for the European Mini, while the export model gets power upped to 226 hp. The German tuner also adds a limited-slip differential, height-adjustable suspension, aluminum strut brace and sport exhaust.

Exterior goodies include a new front spoiler and rear skirt, as well as decal sets in white, black or black/chrome. As always, Schnitzer has a variety of 17-inch and 18-inch wheel options, including an Mi2 BiColor wheel that matches the vehicle's paint scheme.

A selection of shift knobs, hand-brake handles, pedals, floor mats and foot rests are also available.

Inside Line says: Another cohesive tuning package from the German tuner. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
