My love affair with the Panther Chassis started in 1998 when I traded-in my 1980 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II for a Crown Victoria LS.  Believe me, the Ford Dealer got the short end of the stick.  What a car.  200,000 miles with no trouble at all.  Quieter, smoother, more liable, cheaper to maintain, the Crown Victoria was superb.  I always thought that Ford missed the boat by not making a Country Squire/Colony Park version of the 1998 + iteration.  This would have been the ultimate in vehicles far exceeding the last iteration of the Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser/Buick Road Master Wagons.  Wood Paneling and all.

In 2009 the Crown Victoria was traded-in for a Grand Marquis LS.  Fantastic vehicle which exceeds my expectations daily.  Although funny, this article misses the true slender of the Panther Chassis.  Especially the "Ultimate Edition."  The badge says it all.  There will never be a vehicle with such poise, grace, elegant styling and comfort.  The Grand Marquis is a stately living room on wheels that offers owners great performance, gas mileage and safety, coupled with extremely low operating costs.  What an improvement over the Silver Shadow II.

I plan to buy a 2011 and drive it into oblivion in Ultimate Luxury.  All you ney-sayers have no idea what you are talking about.  Laugh as you may, close-minded ones.  Best value ever in automotive history.
