TOKYO — The official demo for Gran Turismo 5 was made available on December 17, and now Polyphony Digital has gone one step further and released the cover art for the game. Gracing the front is a shot of the left side and part of the cockpit of the gullwinged 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.
The Sony developer knows gamers are getting antsy for the game to be made available, so it also provided a few screen shots and a high-definition video of the virtual Benz gullwing to tide us over somewhat.
The official release date is still just speculative. We do know that Japan will get the game sometime in March, but all we know for the U.S. is that Sony Computer Entertainment America producer Chris Hinojosa-Miranda has told a few gaming sites that we should be playing the racing sim by summer 2010.
Inside Line says: At least gamers have Gran Turismo PSP and the GT5 demo to keep them occupied until this summer. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent

Several years of development and a few million dollars over budget and its delayed once again. I'll stick with Forza 3.
