BODENSEE, Germany — ASMA Design has unveiled its all-carbon-fiber body treatment for the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. The kit was reportedly created for the royal family of Abu Dhabi.

Output is upped to 700 horses (the stock SLR comes with 650 horsepower), which allows the 5.4-liter V8 to max out at more than 216 mph and get to 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds.

The carbon-fiber body kit is loaded with new front and rear spoilers, a rear diffuser and side skirts. Wider wheel arches make the car more than 6.5 feet wide and help create room for the 20-inch deep-dish alloys. The one-off wheels are wrapped in 325/25 rubber in back and 255/30 in the front.

ASMA will produce additional copies of the Perfectus SLR for a price equivalent to $1.28 million.

Inside Line says: Many people are sure to question Perfectus' look, although the boost to 700 hp might help Erturul Asma's cause. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
