STUTTGART, Germany — Hoping to inject a little midcycle pizzazz into its SLK roadster, Mercedes-Benz has prepared two special editions, one for the U.S. market and one for the British market. The U.S. version will be called the Mercedes-Benz SLK300 Diamond White Edition, while the U.K. model is the SLK 2Look Edition.
Pricing will be announced shortly on the SLK300 Diamond White Edition, which is being limited to 300 copies, Mercedes-Benz spokesman Rob Moran told Inside Line. The Diamond White Edition will have "most of the equipment of the 2Look, save for different wheels," Moran said.
Features on the U.S. model include Diamond White Metallic paint, two-tone 20-spoke AMG 18-inch alloy wheels, two-tone Designo nappa leather interior with high-contrast "baseball" stitching, a sport suspension and steering-wheel shift paddles.
The U.K. model, which will be limited to 150 copies, will be offered in a choice of Calcite White or Black paint, with Obsidian Black Metallic and Designo Mystic White available as extra-cost options.
The SLK 2Look for Britain also features five-twin-spoke alloy wheels finished in either titanium silver or chrome shadow, as well as sport seats trimmed in black and white Designo nappa leather with contrasting stitching, a multifunction steering wheel, Mystic White dashboard trim and black velour floor mats edged in white.
Mercedes will also fit its Airscarf heating system, heated seats and transparent wind deflector as standard.
Prices in the U.K. will start at around $51,000 for the SLK 2Look.
