LOS ANGELES — Britney Spears is making headlines today, as she has nearly every day for the past year, over an outing covered by fleets of paparazzi. This time it was the purchase of a Mercedes-Benz SLK350 convertible, of which she reportedly took delivery from Beverly Hills Benz in the midst of an "intervention" by friends and family wanting her to get psychiatric help.
Spears reportedly paid the $55,000 price of the Mercedes in cash and almost immediately took the convertible out for a drive — during which she needed paparazzi assistance to find her way.
What this means to you: The SLK is a gem, but not one normally purchased as the main ride for a person with two small children to take to Gymboree class. — Laura Sky Brown, Correspondent
