Brabus Builds One-Off Mercedes SL65 Black Series

    Just the Facts:
    • Brabus unveils its one-off Mercedes-Benz SL65 Black Series called Stealth 65.
    • The tuner increases the SL's output to 809 horsepower and 1,047 pound-feet of torque.

BOTTROP, Germany — Brabus, the modifier house known for its high-performance Mercedes-Benz tunes, has created another one-off Mercedes SL65 Black Series.

It decided to go with the covert theme again (the last one was called the Vanish) and named it the Stealth 65. Output is increased on the vehicle's 6.0-liter AMG V12 twin-turbo to a whopping 809 horsepower and 1,047 pound-feet of torque — a whole 148 hp and 309 lb-ft of torque over the stock SL65 Black Series.

All that extra power comes thanks to the Brabus T65 RS tuning kit that includes revamped twin-turbos, four intercoolers, a reprogrammed ECU and a stainless-steel exhaust system with freer-flowing cats. Brabus doesn't provide performance specs, but the Vanish, which has a few less horses at 789 hp and the same amount of torque, can sprint to 60 mph in less than 3.6 seconds and top out at an electronically governed 200 mph.

Interestingly, both the Stealth and the Vanish currently reside in the same neighborhood in Dubai. You can check out the Brabus Web site for more information on the company's upgrade packages.

I actually own 1/100th of that car since the gas that I bought to fill my Kia Rio came from the oil that the US bought from the UAE.

Heck, I think everybody own a minute part of that car.

What's the deal with the engine rev? It sounds like a pile of 2x4's falling out of a wheelbarrow.

WTF! Is that a wart on the hood! Looks like a total after thought...Lets see, we need to charge the client more $$$ What can we do, guys? I know, we slap on a crappy hood wart and charge the idiot $50000 for it! He'll want to pay because it is a Brabus designed crap! Then, we'll slap on a placard proclaiming that this is a true one off so we can double the price, yes! Hahaha...

Well it looks like the USA sets trends. ZR1 puts an ugly window on a blower and now some ugly black thing on an SL? Who designs this crap?

Hey felonious, no reason to be sarcastic.....they have oil, people are willing to buy it. Simple as that.

I've been to UAE, fantastic country, and GREAT people.  It's one of the places I wouldn't mind having a vacation home in.
