BOTTROP, Germany — The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class-based Brabus 800 iBusiness 2.0 is all business, with full iPad 2 integration among its many features.
The longtime Mercedes-Benz tuner claims its latest creation is "the fastest office on wheels," thanks to a twin-turbocharged V12 that delivers 788 horsepower and 1,047 pound-feet of torque — enough to propel the Brabus 800 from zero to 60 mph in less than 3.9 seconds. The company claims, with a straight face, that "top speed is electronically limited to 218 mph."
While the performance is noteworthy enough, the mobile-office functions are even more remarkable, thanks to the integration of up to two iPads in the rear compartment, as well as an app developed by Brabus specifically for the iBusiness 2.0. That app integrates the iPad into the car's electronics system and enables the iPad to control all functions of the S-Class COMAND system from the rear seats, including entertainment, navigation and mobile communications.
With wireless Internet access, the iBusiness 2.0 also is perfect for mobile videoconferencing, according to Brabus.
Peripherals, from a printer to a digital camera, can be connected to the multimedia system via high-speed USB ports in the rear compartment. In addition, a 15-inch TFT display drops down from the ceiling to function as an auxiliary monitor.
A custom-designed Brabus table, framed in aluminum and covered in leather, holds the iPad and wireless keyboard, both of which can be securely stowed in the rear console. An integrated docking station recharges the batteries.
Digital music is loaded into another Apple device, a 64GB iPod Touch, while a Mini Mac in the trunk serves as a central computer for the network.
Your mobile office wouldn't be complete without some of the usual Brabus amenities, including a two-tone, all-leather cockpit with a pair of individually powered rear seats, a power-operated privacy curtain and an ambient interior lighting system that changes colors.
Inside Line says: You can really lose your head, too, and order the custom "yachting" wood trim package with high-gloss wood inlays and veneers to complement the anodized aluminum pedals and ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

The point is- people who have this kinda money does not have that time to sit and enjoy the gadgets in this car. They'll poke here and there every now and then but then why spend so much money when you can do that on your own handheld device!! this is useless. (I think)

Personally, I just love saying the word "Brabus." And those wheels are gorgeous.

Note to the editor,
A write up about how one goes about purchasing these ultra exotic, custom tuned cars and the numbers of sales a year would be very interesting/enlightening.
I have actually seen a Brabus and an Alpina on the road when I lived in Miami, but there are so many strange interpretations of OEM cars coming out of custom tuning houses. Half of them I see and say "Why would anybody buy that...." Some volume data on these nearly one off cars would be great.
