STUTTGART, Germany — Mercedes-Benz is rolling out a new set of personalization products under the MercedesSport label at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show. The aftermarket modifications were created as part of the larger Mercedes-Benz Accessories division and will be available initially on the E-Class lineup.

The MercedesSport portfolio will include special alloy wheels, aerodynamic and appearance body modifications and sport suspension. The automaker notes that they were designed by the same designers and engineers who worked on the original production models.

The sport suspension option lowers the vehicle by as much as 0.6 inch and includes stiffer damping, shorter strings and transverse stabilizers. The MercedesSport brake system has perforated discs and gray calipers with the Mercedes-Benz logo on them.

Front aprons, spoiler edges and side skirts are added on to the vehicle's original components, and there are also rear and roof spoilers, "diffuser look" rear apron insert and foglamp louvers to change the E-Class' exterior appearance. The MercedesSport wheel option is a set of 18-inch light alloy wheels in a bicolor design with sections in gloss black. The MercedesSport logo decorates the wheels.

The interior gets a four-spoke sport steering wheel with perforated leather and optional heating and shift paddles, plus stainless-steel pedal cluster and stainless door entry panels with the MercedesSport logo.

The MercedesSport products will be available from authorized dealers and will be rolled out to other Mercedes models soon, the company says.
