Tuner Special: Kleemann ML63 K

FARUM, Denmark — Kleemann is no stranger to the world of high-performance vehicles wearing the three-pointed star. But the Danes felt compelled to partner with Dubai-based German Automotive Engineering to create an especially outrageous upgrade of the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG.

GAE provided its expertise in turbocharging on Kleemann's new ML63 K Bi-turbo. As the name implies, twin turbochargers — rather than the usual supercharger — help boost output to 800 horsepower, with torque electronically limited to 738 pound-feet.

The upgrade kit also includes twin intercoolers and Kleemann headers, plumbing and a high-flow stainless-steel exhaust system.

Kleemann retained the AMG 7G Speedshift gearbox and Mercedes 4Matic driveline, and added Pirelli P Zero Rosso 315/35R20 tires and its own 20-inch TS-7 alloy wheels, along with the usual modifications to suspension and brakes.

The performance figures are sensational: 0-60 acceleration in less than 4 seconds, with top speed governed at 186 mph.

Kleemann has created a tasteful and unobtrusive aero body kit for the ML, painted in a matte finish it calls Nordic White. The cabin is trimmed in Alcantara and napa leather.
