The ML63 AMG is powered by a 493-horsepower V8 engine, capable of 465 pound-feet torque.
AMG, the in-house tuning division of Mercedes-Benz, recently developed this new 6.3-liter V8 power plant to thwart rivals' efforts to match Mercedes' performance. The new flagship ML63 reaches 60 mph within 5 seconds and although maximum speed is electronically limited to 155 mph, it is believed it can go a lot faster than that.
Power is transmitted by AMG's 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission, with the gearshift buttons built into the sports steering wheel. The permanent four-wheel-drive system is calibrated with 40-to-60 distribution of power among the front and rear axles.
The beefed-up exterior features front and rear ground effects, AMG radiator grille, flared wings, stainless steel running boards, tinted rear lights and a sport exhaust system with twin chrome-plated tailpipes.
The new ML63 will be joined by the S63 and R63 next year.
What this means to you: The power race will never stop.
