The power kit is meant to unleash the power in the Benz V8 common-rail turbodiesel engine. Power output rises from the stock 306 horsepower to 350 hp at 3,800 rpm. Peak torque increases from 516 pound-feet to 590 lb-ft with D8 tuning.
The tuned ML420 CDI sprints from zero to 62 mph in 6.0 seconds, a half-second faster than the production car. Top speed increases from 146 to 152 mph. The GL420 CDI with the kit goes from zero to 62 mph in 7.1 seconds instead of 7.6 seconds. Top speed increases from 143 to 149 mph.
