WINNENDEN, Germany — The 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class hasn't even made it into the showrooms yet, but tuners are eager to tweak the car as German tuner Lorinser has with engine and body modifications.
Lorinser increases output from the 5.5-liter V8 to 435 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque with new camshafts, a high-flow exhaust and a tuned engine computer. Those are significant gains over the standard 388 hp and 391 lb-ft. The Lorinser E-Class also does away with the speed limiter, and is now capable of reaching up to 174 mph.
The Lorinser body kit includes new bumpers, side sills, wider fenders and a spoiler. The rear fascia integrates a diffuser and hugs quad exhaust tips. Lorinser's E-Class rides on 20-inch wheels and a lowered sport suspension.
The package is expected to go on sale when the new E-Class arrives in Europe this May.
