BOTTROP, Germany — The German tuning specialist Brabus has created a car dubbed the 800 E V12 Cabriolet. It's based on the Mercedes E-Class Convertible and comes loaded with nearly 800 horsepower.
With 788 hp and 1,047 pound-feet of torque (electronically limited to 811 lb-ft), Brabus calls it the "fastest four-seater cabrio." The car is equipped with an S600-sourced twin-turbo V12 that was worked over from the standard 5.5 liters up to 6.3 liters for the tune.
Some of the other engine upgrades include new exhaust manifolds with larger turbochargers, special crankshaft with a longer stroke, four intercoolers, sports camshafts and a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust.
A limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent helps the car sprint to 62 mph and 124 mph in 3.7 and 9.9 seconds respectively, and the car tops out at an incredible 231 mph depending on the configured final-drive ratio.
The exterior is modified with an elaborate body kit that includes a front bumper with integrated LED daytime running lights and wide-body fenders that add 2.4 inches to the width of the convertible. Brabus' 19-inch wheels work with a 1.4-inch height-adjustable suspension to complete the sleek drop-top's new stance.
Brabus also outfits the interior in red and black leather and a variety of carbon-fiber accoutrements.
The Brabus 800 E V12 Cabriolet is built to order and pricing starts at the equivalent of $677,000.
Inside Line says: A beastly convertible that just might deserve the "fastest four-seater cabrio" title.

I really like the looks. Reminds me of the direction lamborghini's are going these days. So what I would do is, buy a standard E-class and modify it myself or pay someone to look like this and do a modest upgrade on overall performance. I'll be saving about $600,000 (if I do it myself) that way, and a better, more sensible car will come out of it.

A little too much car for the wrapper it's in at a lot too much money.

I think for 700G's I'll get a 458 and a Phantom or something instead. If nothing else the price makes this car stupid. The traction control will never be able to handle the power and the stability control is just going to tear up the brakes trying to keep it under control just like that last Brabus SL thing. I wonder if the body (structure) can handle that much torque since it is a convert, cabrio, whatever. Seems like it would eventually twist it at least a little bit.
Its all good...Lets drop the top and try to drive 230 something mph. Stupid car.

not bad but the rear fenders look like they've been tacked on in 15 minutes

Vader's wife? Nah, it's for his slutty daughter or his much-too-young "personal assistant".

Darth Vader's wife's car has arrived. As jm says, the exterior looks really cheap. Who had the great idea of making rear flares primer (no I refuse to call it matte) whereas the rest of the car isn't? Something about the front just screams "Vague car". Looks like something in Grand Theft Auto 4.

So was it bored, or stroked, or both?

wow, the exterior looks REALLY cheap. like something that we would expect to see in spy shots with accompanying captions along the lines of "the heavily camouflaged prototype..."
i would be REALLY mad if my car ended up looking like that. especially for $677,000. sorry, but a CL65 AMG or CL63 AMG is just as fast, bigger, higher quality, and will have its warranty still intact.
