WINNENDEN, Germany — After already showing us a few renderings of its modified 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class in April, the tuner now leaves nothing to the imagination with the slew of photos just released.
Lorinser bumps output on the E 500's 5.5-liter V8 to 435 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque thanks to new camshafts, a high-flow exhaust and recalibrated ECU. That's a decent increase over the 382-hp and 391 lb-ft stock engine. By removing the electronic speed limiter, the Lorinser-tuned E-Class maxes out at a higher 174 mph.
Body changes include a sport grille, a redesigned front bumper, new side skirts, front fenders with air vents, a trunk lid spoiler, a rear bumper with blacked-out diffuser and a four-pipe exhaust unit. A roof-mounted spoiler, a lowered suspension and huge 20-inch rims complete the luxury sedan's new look.
